Meet babus who are Bihar proud

Meet babus who are Bihar proud
- Expatriates continue to help their home state

From the state: Navinchandra Ramgoolam
Patna, April 6: While Shiv Sena continues its anti-north India, especially anti-Bihar tirade, unknown faces silently continue to make Bihar and the country proud.

People like Ramesh Yadav, an NRI, who unfolded his plans to construct hotels at Gaya and Rajgir after a global meet in early 2007 — is only one example among several.

Like him there is Sukhanandan, a software expert based in California, who recently visited home district Sitamarhi with a blueprint to start a hospital at Dumra, 60km from Patna.

Its construction would involve as many people from local areas and would offer a mix of allopathic, yoga and ayurvedic cures. Sukhnandan has started acquiring land for his project, due to start after he completes all government formalities.

For the project, Sukhanandan met kindred spirit, senior IPS officer Arvind Pandey, the founder of Biharbhakti Andolan — a campaign to unite people of Bihar.

Talking to The Telegraph, Pandey, currently serving as the deputy inspector-general of police (Tirhut range), said: “I usually request people who visit the Biharbhakti Andolan website to help their state.”

Pandey, originally hailing from Vindhyachal in Uttar Pradesh, has settled in Bihar and feels proud to call himself a “Bihari”.

“We plan to start offices in all districts of the state and in other states and abroad where people from Bihar live to help the state that I call my home,” he adds.

In his website he has found the support of 100-odd NRIs, mostly from Bihar.

Ramraj Pandey, a Muzaffarpur resident now living in USA, recently organised a scientific foresight meet at Patna. He has plans to start an engineering college at his district town.

He is expected in the state later this month.

Vibhuti Vikramadity, a Patna resident living in South Korea, is planning another scientific meet in Patna.

New Delhi-based senior IPS officer revealed his plans to start a scholarship programme from hometown Bhagalpur to promote local brains.
